A Perfect Fit is the story of Nicole, a college sophomore involved in her first lesbian relationship. Nicole’s exploration of her sexuality has caused her mother Janet to begin questioning her own marriage and her own assumptions. Then there’s Janet’s friend Melinda, who’s newly divorced and wants nothing more than the stable family life that Janet has… or seems to. A Perfect Fit asks hard questions about what it takes – and whether it’s possible – to be happy as a woman in the 21st century.

Lia Romeo’s plays have been produced at 59E59, Project Y Theatre Company, Unicorn Theatre, HotCity Theatre, Stillwater Theatre, Renegade Theatre Experiment, Forward Flux Productions, New Origins Theatre Company, Jersey City Theater Center, and Xpressions Performing Arts Network, and have been developed at the Lark, San Francisco Playhouse, Abingdon Theatre, Writers Theatre of New Jersey, Orlando Shakes, New Jersey Repertory Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theatre, and elsewhere. She has been nominated for the American Theatre Critics’ Association’s Steinberg Award for best new play, the New York Innovative Theatre Award for outstanding full-length play, the L. Arnold Weissberger Award, and the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. She has been recognized by the O’Neill (finalist), the Heideman Award (finalist), and the Kilroys List (honorable mention). She was the National New Play Network Emerging Playwright-in-Residence at Writers Theatre of New Jersey, and she is currently a member of the Project Y Playwrights Group and a company member at InViolet Theater. She is also the literary manager at Project Y Theatre Company, and the author of a novel, Dating the Devil (BelleBooks), and a humor book, 11,002 Things to Be Miserable About (Abrams Image), which has sold over 35,000 copies worldwide. Her work is published by Playscripts and Smith and Kraus. She earned her B.A. from Princeton University and her M.F.A. in playwriting from Rutgers, and she teaches in the graduate creative writing program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Susan Lyles
Susan Lyles, is an award winning director with an BA from Wichita State University, and received certification from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Shakespeare. She has worked on stage in London, Chicago and Denver and has also worked in film, commercials, print, industrials, and voice over. Susan is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of And Toto too Theatre Company, and has directed more than 20 plays, including the award winning Naked in Encino, Car Talk, and Heads. She has designed costumes for more than 50 plays, including Lion in Winter (Denver Victorian Playhouse), 12th Night (Denver Victorian Playhouse), and Greater Tuna and Christmas Tuna (Denver Victorian Playhouse, Town Hall Arts Center). Susan was recently honored with a 2015 True West Award. She also owns the award winning film production company, Ruff, Ruff Dog Productions.

LISA DECARO (jANET)
Lisa DeCaro received her BFA in acting from the University of Southern California, and spent the following decade as a “working actress” in Los Angeles, working in film, TV, and theater, including a long-running improv show. In Colorado, she been fortunate to have worked at Miners Alley Playhouse, Modern Muse, The Edge Theater, Firehouse Theater, Vintage Theatre Prods., and The Evergreen Players, and is so grateful to be a part of the supportive, inclusive, and amazingly talented Colorado theater community.
Kate Poling (Nicole)
Kate Poling is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Acting. She is a native of Colorado, and has been acting in the Denver area since returning to Denver in 2014. Favorite roles include Julie (Smoke, And Toto Too), and Viola (Twelfth Night, Foothills Theatre Company). Kate is a member of the Children's Theatre at Miners Alley Playhouse and also teaches theatre around Denver, including for The Arvada Center and the MACC. She loves working with And Toto too, and truly appreciated what this company is doing for female theatre-makers! Enjoy the play!
MADISON KueBLER (JILL)
Madison is a local sound designer and actress originally from Arkansas. She graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a BA in Theatre. She has designed shows such as Rabbit Hole and After Orlando at Vintage Theatre as well as Getting Out and Casa Valentina at the Edge Theatre. She would like to thank her family, friends, and co-workers for their constant love and support, and a special thanks to her partner, Jenae.
JOI HAITT (SERENA)
Joi is a model and bilingual actress on stage and on film. A company member with Su Teatro Cultural and Performing Arts Center. A company member with Zounds! Theater Company, a group that brings Shakespeare into schools. Some favorite roles include Johanna Mendoza, series regular on Drama Queens, Doris in Miracle on 34th Street, and Bottom in Midsummer Night's Dream. Known as a versatile actress, Joi has played The Evil Stepmother AND Cinderella in different productions of Cinderella. University of Colorado (BS). Zounds! Theater Company Trustee. JULIE KAYE WOLF (MELINDA)
Julie is delighted to be a part of A Perfect Fit. Recently, she has been seen at Firehouse Theatre as Lenny McGrath in Crimes of the Heart and as Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible. Other productions around town include The Taming of the Shrew-Lost & Found Productions, Unmarried in America, and The Cider House Rules-Vintage Theatre. Some of Julie’s favorite roles include Blanche Dubois-A Streetcar Named Desire, Lady Macbeth-Macbeth, and Belinda/Flavia-Noises Off. Jeff, you’re my favorite. Love to our fur-babies.
