Black Lives Matter message from the And Toto too Theatre Company Board of Directors
Black Lives Matter to each of us at And Toto too Theatre Company. As a company founded on the premise that the stories of those without a voice should be heard, we stand with the Black artists, and citizens of our country who are tired of having their voices silenced. The senseless murders of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd unconscionably are not unique – they are yet the most recent manifestations of a centuries old system of oppression in this country, one deeply ingrained with racism and white supremacy. That must change now.
We are committed to being part of the solution. We will continue to bring the voices of women storytellers to our stage, vow to continue to promote diversity in those stories and voices, to continue to cast BIPOC in roles written specifically for them, and continue our policy of “open” casting as we move forward.
